چکیده
Abstract In this paper, the Improved Applied Element Method (IAEM), which was originally developed as an effective analysis technique for large-scale bonded and unbonded prestressed structures, is utilized to carry out failure modeling of bridges under different hazard loads. A typical concrete girder bridge analyzed two hazardous loading scenarios. The first one applying a detonation charge located in middle central span, while second scenario sudden column representing truck or vessel colliding with pier. For both scenarios, collapse analyses structure after damage are explored. addition, mechanism severity pier deck investigated. Both material geometric nonlinearities considered analysis. Moreover, it considers contact-impact, re-contact, inertia effects, hence, can track stages well debris movement until complete structure. results show strong capability simulating total performance from early collapse, clear graphic representation phenomena.

Prestressed Concrete Girder Bridges Using Large 0.7 Inch Strands
The National Bridge Inventory (NBI) includes more than 600,000 bridges within the United States of Prestressed concrete girder bridges represent one of the most widely used bridge systems. The majority of these girder bridges were constructed using 0.5 and 0.6 inch diameter strands. The main impediments to using larger strand diameters are: 1) bed capacities, 2) lack of structural knowledge reg...

Optimization of Precast Prestressed Concrete Bridge Girder Systems
60 A practical approach to the optimal design of precast, prestressed concrete highway bridge girder systems is presented. The approach aims at standardizing the optimal design of bridge systems, as opposed to standardizing girder sections. Structural system optimization is shown to be more relevant than conventional girder optimization for an arbitrarily chosen structural system. Bridge system...
متن کاملHeuristic optimization of prestressed concrete precast pedestrian bridges
This paper deals with the economic optimization of prestressed concrete precast pedestrian bridges typically used in public works construction. These bridges are made of a precast concrete beam that integrates an upper reinforced concrete slab for the pedestrian traffic. The beam has a U-shape cross-section. Typical span lengths range from 20 to 40 m and the width ranges from 3.00 to 6.00 m. Th...
متن کاملAn Improved Tie Force Method for Progressive Collapse Resistance of Precast Concrete Cross Wall Structures
Progressive collapse of buildings typically occurs when abnormal loading conditions cause local damages, which leads to a chain reaction of failure and ultimately catastrophic collapse. The tie force (TF) method is one of the main design approaches for progressive collapse. As the TF method is a simplified method, further investigations on the reliability of the method is necessary. This study ...
